(Spoilers Ahead)

Industry is back and better than ever. The third season of HBO's original hit British-American series premiered on August 11 with its first episode, "Il Mattino ha L'Oro Bocca." Judging from the premiere, this season promises epic twists and turns as a character unexpectedly and shockingly dies, Kit Harington makes his debut, and the season gets crazier (in a deliciously good way).

The new season, with 8 episodes, picks up where season 2 left off. The ambitious bankers at Pierpoint & Co, the prestigious investment bank in London, continue to navigate the cutthroat environment of high finance, sex, and drugs as they continue to forge their own identities. When Henry Muck, the CEO of green tech energy company Lumi, enters the fray, the bankers take a huge bet on the investment.

The sudden death of Nicole (Sarah Parish) shakes things up in a major way and, while completely unexpected, will definitely affect Robert (Harry Lawtey) throughout the series, which brings back memories of his mom's death and the trauma he had from his relationship with her, per Micky Down, the show's creator. Kenny (Conor MacNeill) getting fired by Eric (Ken Leung) is also a plot no one saw coming, as he was genuinely trying to be a better person. As the season unfolds, Harper's (Myha'la) and Yasmin's (Marisa Abela) characters will leave viewers on the edge of their seats as they become major players at Pierpoint & Co.

Produced by "A Bad Wolf Production" for HBO/BBC, Industry initially premiered on November 9, 2020, on HBO in the U.S. and on November 10, 2020, on BBC Two in the U.K., with the second season premiering on August 1, 2022. Mickey Down and Konrad Kay created, wrote, directed, and executive produced the series. Jane Tranter, Kate Crowther, Ryan Rasmussen, and Rebecca Ferguson also serve as executive producers, with Isabella Eklöf and Zoé Wittock also directing.

Industry stars Myha'la, Marisa Abela, Harry Lawtey, Ken Leung, Conor MacNeill, Sagar Radia, Indy Lewis, Adam Levy, Sarah Parish, Trevor White, Elena Saurel and Irfan Shamji. Plus, Sarah Goldberg, Miriam Petche, Andrew Havill, Roger Barclay, Fady Elsayed, and Fiona Button. Kit Harrington (Game of Thrones) stars as Sir Henry Muck.

According to the official synopsis, in Season 3, as Pierpoint looks to the future and takes a big bet on ethical investing, Yasmin, Robert, and Eric find themselves front and center in the splashy IPO of Lumi, a green tech energy company. Since leaving Pierpoint, Harper is eager to get back into the addictive thrill of finance and finds an unlikely partner in FutureDawn portfolio manager Petra Koenig.

Down promised a "seismic change" this season, telling IndieWire, "A lot of stuff changes, so you can tell us when you've seen it whether it feels like the ending. But no, we don't hold stuff back. Especially this season, we really felt an immense privilege to get a third season when it's nearly impossible to do that now. So we thought we have to throw everything at the wall and just be as ambitious as we can be."
